This is already the fourth and final part of my birthday present to my niece who turned 6 years old. In my previous post (which you can read back here) I told you that my mum actually helped in making the cape, which was definitely a challenging piece to make! My mum also made another clothing item, to which I devoted this final post: the ballerina skirt! It’s not made with felt, but with tulle (you can buy it here). She cut stripes of about 10×1.5cm and knotted them around a ribbon by folding them double and pulling it through the loop. It’s actually very simple! Attach as many stripes as you wish. For this skirt she used about 30 stripes. We re-used the top from the princess outfit (which you can see in my first post about the felt doll) to make the outfit complete. Mix & match:)
Next, I did some shopping and I found this cute jewelry reck that could perfectly serve as a clothing reck/wardrobe for my felt doll. My husband helped me making the iron wire hangers (I’m apparently good in tricking people to help me crafting haha) in different sizes, so all the clothing pieces would fit. I also used spool knitting to create three strands that I braided into a scarf. To finalize the present, I made tiny birthday cards that I placed in between the folds of the jewelry reck (that is usually meant for placing rings for example). Then it was time to assemble all the pieces to create the final package.
Below you can see the total set:) A lot of work went into this and I was quite proud of the result. My niece was really happy and we spent some quality time together while dressing and undressing the doll. That made everything worth it! I really enjoy making personal presents, but unfortunately I don’t always have time to do so. This was really a present out of love and I truly hope I can make many more! Dit is alweer de vierde en laatste deel van mijn verjaardagscadeau aan mijn nichtje die 6 geworden was. In mijn vorige post, welke je hier kunt teruglezen, had ik jullie verteld dat mijn moeder mij had geholpen met het maken van de cape. Dit was geen makkelijk kledingstuk om te maken! Ze heeft echter niet alleen de cape met mij gemaakt, maar ook het kledingstuk waar deze post aan gewijd is: een ballerina rokje! Het is niet gemaakt van vilt, maar van tule (je kunt het hier kopen). Ze heeft strookjes van ongeveer 10×1.5cm geknipt en deze dubbelgevouwen en geknoopt om een lintje heen door de uiteindes door de lus te halen. Het is eigenlijk heel simpel! Knoop zoveel strookjes om het lintje als jij mooi vindt. In dit rokje zitten ongeveer 30 strookjes. We hebben het topje van de prinsessenjurk (welke je hier terug kunt zien) hergebruikt om de outfit compleet te maken. Mix & match 🙂
Daarna ben ik gaan winkelen en vond ik dit schattige sieradenrekje welke perfect kon dienen als kapstok/kledingrek voor mijn vilten pop. Mijn man heeft mij geholpen met het maken van de ijzeren kledinghangers (ik ben blijkbaar goed in het overhalen van mensen om met mij te knutselen haha) van verschillende groottes, zodat alle kledingstukken zouden passen. Ik heb een punnikmolen gebruikt om drie strengen te maken, welke ik gevlochten heb in een sjaaltje. Om het pakketje af te maken heb ik kleine verjaardagskaartjes gemaakt welke ik in de vouwen van het sieradenrekje heb geplaatst (hier doe je normaal gesproken bijvoorbeeld ringen in). Daarna was het tijd om het pakket te gaan samenstellen.
Hierboven zie je het eindresultaat. Er is veel werk in gegaan, maar het heeft maakte mij wel erg trots. Mijn nichtje was erg blij met het cadeau en we hebben wat quality time samen doorgebracht terwijl we de pop aan- en uitkleedde. Dat heeft het werk allemaal waard gemaakt! Ik vind het echt heel erg leuk om persoonlijke cadeautjes te maken, maar hier heb ik helaas niet altijd tijd voor. Dit was echt een cadeautje dat vol liefde was gemaakt en ik hoop dat ik dit nog veel vaker kan gaan doen! Maak jij ook cadeautjes zelf? Laat het ons in een opmerking hieronder weten!
